Being Open to Receive

By Victoria Gallagher, C.M. Ht.

It is our inherent nature to be happy and be abundant. Although, because of the way many have been brought up in our lives, we have been taught that we have to work hard and struggle and fight for the things we want; good jobs, money, relationships, and getting in good shape.

Being prosperous and being open to receiving can become an effortless process as we learn how to utilize the gifts we were given.

One of the things I notice about people is that they want “X” but they settle for “Y.” Why? In my opinion, because down deep inside, “Y” is what they think they deserve. Now, not only do they settle for “Y” they work HARD to maintain having “Y”.

This is where the power of hypnosis comes in handy big time.

You see, it’s almost painful for some people to think about “X” because they just don’t believe they will ever have it anyway, so why bother to even think about it? The truth is that your mind will bring you whatever you spend the most time thinking about. If you continue thinking about your present situation, complaining about it, feeling disillusioned, or even apathetic about it, that is what life will continue to bring you.

People tend to stay in the same thought patterns and continue recreating the same old experience because it is comfortable. It seems it would be easier to stay within the confines of “the box” and not rock the boat too much, or things will get uncomfortable.

This is called Fear of Change.

Why do we fear this change? Survival. For example, homeostasis (constancy in our bodies.) We need this constancy to keep things running in our bodies, breathing, heart beating, etc… Any kind of change we encounter, whether real or imagined, physically, mentally, or emotional, creates a slight disruption to this process and that makes us feel on the edge, stressed out, or anxious.

Aren’t changes going on in our lives anyway? As I said, all change creates stress. What’s even more stressful, is trying to keep things the same, when things are always changing. That depletes your energy and creates low-level awareness and thinking.

What happens during a hypnotic state is that you are able to let go. Your conscious thoughts slow down as your brain waves slow down. You begin to align yourself with your subconscious thoughts. You can get in touch with what is really important to you but gets inhibited by all that logical thinking that you do all day long.

Letting go is the key to happiness. Think about that. Think about how when you are not happy, what you are thinking about that is creating that. And I will bet that it is something that you are not willing to release and free yourself from. And the sad part is, the more you are unwilling to let it go, the more you attract that very thing.

In Hypnosis, you can focus on your goals, make contact with your higher self, your guides, or your own inner voice and begin opening yourself to new possibilities.

One of the things I always like to emphasize is that it is not important for the things you want to make sense as far as how you are going to get there. Just knowing that you want something is a start. Being willing to have them. Trusting and believing that you can have them. Letting go of any blocks, realizing that nature abhors a vacuum and will fill your voids if you will only let go.

Hypnosis will help you in trusting this process. The hypnotic state is a very natural level of mind.
