Accepting versus Resisting

When we are faced with an issue in our lives, for example maybe you want to lose weight, or maybe you have found yourself single and you want to change that, or perhaps you have fallen ill … our first inclination is to resist that change.

We want to push it as far away as possible and DO something to make it different than it is.

And this is called resistance. Resistance is a form of denial. You’re not happy with the situation as it is and you want to CHANGE it, FIX it, and make it not be whatever it is.

What’s wrong with that you ask? Of course if something is not working in your life, of course, you want to change it. Why not?

As a matter of fact, change is the one thing that is constant. We are always changing. Nothing is fixed. It’s all very translucent and your experience is fluid. There’s been information in the news about how hypnosis is working to help people lose weight with the use of a sort of mental version of the Gastric Lap Band.
