Hypnosis and New Years Resolutions

Every year, you find yourself making the same ole’ New Years Resolutions.

"I’m going to Lose Weight"

"I’m going to Get out of Debt"

"I’m going to be a better wife/husband/mom/dad ... etc."

Only to find that several months later, these resolutions have been not only given up on, but entirely forgotten about.

How do I know this?

Statistically speaking, the Top Ten resolutions people make are close to the same each and every year. Yet, obesity rates are increasing year after year. House hold debt levels have now surpassed household income by more than eight percent. According to the Federal Reserve Board, consumer debt is now at a record $2.17 trillion, the highest ever. And the divorce and domestic violence rates are still as high as ever before.

Be honest with yourself. Did you make the same resolutions this year as you did last year?

How many times have you made the same resolution?

Have you just given up on making resolutions all together?

While on one level, you may have already resigned to the status quo of your life, I know that down deep inside, you really do want to make changes. You really would like to get out of debt and save money. You really would like the relationship of your dreams. You really would like to exercise more and eat healthy. You really would like to be 10 or 20 or 100 pounds slimmer. You really would like to have a better attitude, feel more positive, get more accomplished, find a better job, get a raise, be kind to others, etc. etc. You just haven’t figured out how.

It seems so easy to sit down with yourself each year and say, "I resolve to ..." But, the problem is, as you have heard me say so in so many ways, your subconscious mind is working against those changes. Listen, if it were simply a matter of telling yourself you’re going to do it, you would have done it by now. You want to make that change in your life. You’ve told yourself you’re going to make that change. But, you haven’t. So, what is getting in your way?

You guessed it, it’s your old brain. Your old brain is like an aircraft on cruise control and it’s heading in the direction you have programmed it to go, by early childhood programming, emotional responses, habits, thought patterns, and memories. Sure, you may make small attempts to turn the aircraft in a new direction, but the aircrafts powerful programming overrides all of these adjustments. It is practically fruitless to try and change the direction you’re going without first changing the programming that is in charge of automatically proceeding in a particular direction.

This month, I’m going to help you to change those automatic programs into ones that are heading in the direction you intend to go so you can make something happen out of those good intentions you started out with this year.

But, why wait? When is the last time you stopped by the store? Maybe there is already something that fits right in with the goals you have made for 2007. Don’t allow 2007 to just become another failure. Really make something happen. It’s absolutely the best thing you can do for yourself, programming your mind to help you to succeed.
