Does Money Buy Happiness?
In this material world, they say that money is just that… a material. But we can all agree that living without, or with little, money is very difficult. When almost everything in this world is involved one way or another with money, people say that money can easily buy you everything that you want.. your wishes, hopes and dreams. But in reality, does money really buy happiness?
Money Does Not Buy Happiness
The truth is, money does not buy happiness, but money can give you the opportunity to become happy.
Some people who are blinded by the materialistic world where we live in believe that they can be happy if they have a lot of money. This is terribly wrong! Money, not in any way, can not make you happy because it is not the root of happiness. Over the internet, you can see a lot of “happy but poor” and “rich but unhappy” debates where people argue if money can really buy you happiness. And just like what I said, money cannot buy you happiness but it can give you the opportunity to be happy.
How Can Money Give You The Opportunity To Be Happy?
If you have money, you can give yourself an opportunity to be happy. If you have money and you love music, you can easily buy all the music that you want, enroll in top-class music schools and purchase all the high-end instruments tat your money can buy. OR if you have money and you love to travel, you can easily go on a world tour and spend your time visiting places that you only see in photographs and have fun while doing so. Money can easily give you access to things that can make you happy, but happiness is definitely not guaranteed by having a lot of money. It is on how you use your money that will determine if you’ll be happy at the end of the day, but having that open opportunity to avail of things that can make you happy is obviously an advantage that rich people possess.
If you are a person with a lot of money and you still feel unsatisfied, one thing that you can do is to spend your money to help make other people happy too! At the end of the day, it is all about perspective and opportunities that will determine if you will be happy or not with the money that you have. Yes, there are many rich people who are perfectly happy. But I can almost assure you that money did not buy them the happiness that they have, only the window to use the money for making opportunities to be happy. Does money buy happiness? No, but it gives you a chance to be happy.
