Overcoming Your Fear Of Heights

Fear of heights, also known as acrophobia, is not an unusual thing for many people. In reality, acrophobia can be considered as one of the more common phobias around the world, as many people can attest that looking down from a high place can really give them the chills. For some people, the effects of acrophobia can even manifest when they are not even in a high place. Just standing up above the top of the slide and looking down, for example, can trigger the effects of acrophobia for some people.

 

Most people, to a certain degree of rationality, can experience a fear of falling down when placed atop a high place. This fear is often the result of our subconscious mind trying to entertain the possibility of us falling down, which is practically normal up to a certain point. People who suffer from fear of heights, however, suffers from this phenomenon at a much higher rate. Just the thought of standing up in a high place, for example, can jumpstart the attack of acrophobia, which can be very troublesome especially if you are working in a high-rise building where the view of the window and the places down below can easily trigger an attack.

If you want to overcome your fear of heights, you have got to start at the root of the problem, which is your subconscious mind. It is your subconscious mind that is starting the thought process that makes you afraid of going into high places, which is why you have to condition your subconscious to let go of this fear.

 

Think of what you can do when you no longer have a fear of heights — there are so many adventures out there that you might have not undertaken because of this fear that is limiting your true potential. One thing that you can do to start eliminating your fear of heights is to condition your mind to let go of your fear gradually but consistently, and this self-hypnosis program can really get you started in the right direction.
