Hypnosis and Pain Control
Nothing New
Hypnosis for Pain Control is not a new concept. It's actually been around for centuries... and was once thought of as standard medical treatment back in the mid 1770's. It became relatively extinct in around 1920 when the more sophisticated anesthesia was invented.
These days, the use of suggestion to alter sensory perception, is becoming noticed again as an acceptable part of modern medicine. As the interest in the mind-body connect grows, Hypnosis has now become widely recommended as the therapy of choice for the treatment of chronic pain.
The Nature of Pain
Pain does have a purpose. It's purpose is to serve as a warning signal that there is something wrong in the body. Once you have discovered what that is, pain is no longer necessary. It is so important for you to at least find out what is wrong with your body before utilizing any techniques for pain control. Self-hypnosis is a supplement to medical treatment. However, it is not intended to take the place of medicine.
