Ways to Reverse Aging

Here are a number of habits that you can incorporate into your life to create a longer, healthier and more youthful life. Most of these are fairly obvious, but it’s nice to be able to just bring these ideas all to the forefront and provide you with a sort of check list for you to see how many of these habits you utilize in your life. The more items you participate in on this list, the more likely you are to survive well into your 100’s.

Also, keep in mind that moderation is the key. If you see that you need to do more cardio, do the amount that is recommended for your body and respect your body’s needs. Don’t go over board with any of these because it could have the reverse affect. Other items that fall into the category of using moderation would be drinking soy milk. Obviously drinking TOO much soymilk, being that it is high in calories could result in gaining weight, which would NOT be productive. Same with eating fiber. Fiber is loaded with carbohydrates. But getting some fiber in your diet will help with digestion. Even too much calcium can be harmful by resulting in slower bone turn-over rate.

This list is certainly not an end all be all to your longevity and is not meant to be an exact science. It’s simply something for you to observe and then for you to further look into the proper needs for you.

Here is my recommendation for making the most out of "The Anti-Aging List"

1. Print out this list.
2. Check off the things that you know are already working for you.
3. From the remaining items, circle the things that are intriguing or interesting to you, something you may have never tried before or haven’t dedicated much of your focus on.
4. Go over your circled items and number them in the order in which your intuition tells you that you could get the most benefit from implementing in your life or that you feel most excited about beginning now.
5. Make a separate list of those things on a piece of paper in the order in which you have them numbered.
6. Decide now that you will gradually, one by one begin to incorporate the things on your numbered list into your life, until you find that you are ultimately incorporating ALL of the things that you have circled.
7. Before beginning any of these new habits, make sure that you spend just a little time researching the best formula for yourself. Always check with your doctor before beginning any kind of exercise or diet regimen.

The Anti-Aging List

1. Decide that you have a choice to live longer
2. Eat all your servings of fruit and (green) vegetables
3. Drink Soy Milk
4. Get plenty of calcium.
5. Maintain the proper BMI for your body.
6. Lift weights
7. Do aerobic/cardio activities at least 3 x per week
8. Spend time walking outdoors
9. Smile
10. Laugh
11. Play
12. Have Sex
13. Practice Safe Sex
14. Meditate Daily
15. Stop Smoking
16. Consume 1 glass of wine daily
17. Travel
18. Read
19. Take a Class; learn something new
20. Do Yoga (especially Bikram Yoga)
